July 12 to August 30, 2014
A celebration of art and culture will be in the air for Fresh Local Produce at Katzman Contemporary from July 12 to August 30.
Toronto art lovers, hungry for fresh, organic, homegrown work can harvest the pick of the crop from gallery roster artists at summer market prices.
Katzman Contemporary is excited to launch its first seasonal art marketplace to bring local communities together. Visitors will discover unbeatable flavour and variety in terms of style and medium, as well as the best value for this premium produce. The gallery marketplace will be filled with locally made art that hasn’t been riding in a truck from thousands of miles away, including painting by John Kissick and Janet Jones, photography by Susan Schelle and Sean Martindale, and sculptural work by Mark Gomes and Meghan Price, as well as many more works from additional roster artists that are in season and at the peak of perfection. The selection is bountiful – from multiples and catalogues to original works, with prices starting at $10. Buying locally grown art is the best way to show appreciation for the hard work of our artists, and helps make art production viable and sustainable.
Fresh Local Produce is not only a great opportunity to purchase local art produce and goods, but is also a great event to enjoy with family and friends. For each remaining Saturday in July – the 12th, 19th, and 26th from 2-5 p.m. - the gallery doors will be thrown open for a cultural event. Music, theatrical performances, and artist appearances will take place, including Arthur Renwick on guitar on the 19th.
